HIV & AIDS Seminar

On Wednesday Night the Family of Nassau Fellowship Centre hosted an HIV & AIDS seminar where the guest speaker was Mrs. Cynthia Johnson from the HIV & AIDS Center in the Ministry of Health.

We found out that HIV & AIDS stands for (HIV) Human Immunodeficiency Virus $ (AIDS) Acquired Immune deficiency Syndrome.

Mrs. Johnson spoke on the following: Some of the mean symptoms Of AIDS: Dry harking Cough, Changes in hair, Weight lost, Night Sweat

The four means of contracting HIV

(1) From mother to infant

(2) Through blood transfusion

(3) Through dirty needles

(4) Through sex

Ways you cannot Contract HIV

(1) Hugging

(2) Drinking out of the same glass

(3) Through casual contact

(4) From touching money

Weheard from a HIV positive person who shared how his life has changed and how he is dealing with life. There was a question and answer period where members were able to get accurate and correct answers for their question.

Points To Remember

You cannot tell if someone has HIV by looking at them.

A person must be HIV positive before they can go on to have full blow AIDS.

There are means by which on can protect himself of protection

You should not point fingers, remember that some persons are innocent.
