Mother Melvese Mitchell and her husband the Late Bishop Harold Mitchell started the First Born Church of God Written in Heaven on August 29, 1969. Together with the help of God they laid a firm foundation for a ministry that was grounded in truth.
After the death of her husband in 1979, Mother Mitchell followed hard after God and remained steadfast.

Mother Melvese Mitchell is the Matriarch of Nassau Fellowship Centre. She never retired from ministry and remained active until her passing.
'Mama' was a unique gem and a special gift from God to all of us. Her life went back to God from whence it came, but her legacy will remain. Those who are in Christ never die, they are taken from Glory to Glory.
