BREAKING GENERATION CURSES – Part III

God has unique things planned for the family! He put his blessing on Adam and Eve. He gave them and their children dominion, but they sinned, and sin brought the curse. As soon as they sinned God brought a way out of the sin through the shedding of blood.

Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

God showed Abraham how he would bless the family.

Genesis 13:14 - 16  And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now your eyes, and look from the place where you are northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

For all the land which you see, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

God gave Abraham tremendous promises for his seed, his descendants. When Isaac and Jacob were born he blessed the family, but Esau blew it.

Genesis 28:8 Also Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan did not please his father Isaac.

So Esau went to Ishmael and took Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife in addition to the wives he had.

I’ve always thought Esau blew it because he sold his birthright to Jacob. He treated the things of God lightly and never did repent of what he had done. He was sorry about the situation and he wanted to kill Jacob but he never repented of his own sin he just got into vengeance. There’s something else that Esau did. He married Hittites. Esau had two Hittites wives.

Genesis 26:34 And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite

Which was a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebecca.

The Hittites were descendants of the Canaanites. There was a curse on the Canaanites a generation curse that wouldn’t stop. He brought that generation curse into his family. That is why the Bible tells you not to marry a non-Christian, not to be unequally yoked together. (See  2nd Corinthians  6:14-18). Why? Because these persons are under a generation curse. (See St. John  3:16-18).If you want your children to be blessed do not marry an unbeliever.

When you came to Jesus you began to break that curse, so don’t marry an unbeliever and invite a new curse in. Blessings and curses are passed on from generation to generation. Some of your natural talents and strengths are those you’ve inherited from your parents. And you’ve probably gotten some spiritual lessons from your grand parents who prayed you into the family of God. These are blessings that have come down on you.

No matter what the generation curse is, the Blood of Jesus is the only thing that can break that generation curse. (See Exodus 12:3,6,7,12-13)

God was very concern that family curses be broken that’s why he wiped out all of the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites Jebusites and all of those nations that served idols gods. God told Joshua when you go into Canaan destroy all of the people and wipe them out.  They are a people who continue in sin and they shouldn’t intermarry with the Israelites as this would bring their generation curses upon them. Achan paid a heavy price for disobeying the law of God. (See Joshua 7:24-25).

Many of the problems with your natural born children are generation curses. When you check it out, some of the problems we deal within ourselves are insecurity, fear, poverty, anger, and violence. These can be products of  the way that your father, mother, grandfather and grandmother.

But you tell the devil that he is not going to do that to your house. Tell him “This house has been cleansed. The blood of Jesus is over it, devil you are not bringing seven other evil spirits in. This is not your house; this is my house, and it belongs to Jesus! Satan I stop you in the name of Jesus! This house will never be yours! Neither will my children.”

BREAKING THE CURSE

If you are fighting a problem that goes back generation after generation, pray this pray aloud and break that curse.

Father in Jesus name, you love me! You sent your son Jesus to break this curse from my ancestors from me. This________ curse is destroyed this very moment in the name of Jesus. Never again will I have this problem.  I give this ________ to you Jesus. Jesus set me free right now! Your blood covers me, your blood cleanse me and right now I am free by your blood in Jesus name amen.

Now make this declaration of faith out loud

Satan! You and your evil spirits of ________ have heard my prayer! You have had your chance, but your power is broken. Never again will I, or anyone in my house, be a slave to ________, in Jesus name, your curse is broken. Your interference in my life is stopped right now. I once was a _________but now I am delivered. The family curse is broken. My children, my grandchildren, and my great-grandchildren will never be a________ again because the blood of Jesus has cleansed us today and for always in Jesus name. So devil, get out of here. I will praise Jesus often for his blood and his deliverance.
